So Monday is my birthday (Sunday at 10:05pm for you Hawaii people). And it makes me think, just like the end of each year makes you think about what you've done all year. Well, I'm not necessarily looking too far back on the eve of my birth. I'm looking at the present. Am I happy? That's an easy answer...No! Do I like my job? Most days, yes...some days...No. Do I love my friends and family? Of course I do!!! Where would I be without them??? Do they keep me happy? Well they definitely try and that's the important part. So the other day, I saw a job that I would love... The only part that was missing was by accounting experience. Who says you need accounting experience to audit a bank? LOL. So yeah, that's what i'd really like to do. Those that are wondering what makes me tick. Those that are wondering what goes on inside my head. That's easy. Kevin likes financials. I find a job that I like, that pays well, but is in a non aloha state. LOL. What does one do? I really want to go back to school, but I don't know how long I can live here broke. What's a boy to do? LOL
Anyway, on a serious note.... Any suggestions will be greatly welcomed.

Hrmph
So I recently got yelled at for not posting often. Whats wrong with taking a 5 month break? HAHA
Well, if you read my last post, it was about Chicago. I ended up going because my coworker still hasn't had the surgery. Who knows when she will get it done. I had a blast in Chitown. It had been a year since I was there last. 4 of my friends from here and I were in Chicago for about a week. I think I'm the only one that really enjoyed it...but oh well. Its all about me anyway, right?
Here is a picture of Destiny and I at Navy Pier. It was really nice seeing here again.

I also ran into Josh, my friend from HS. (sorry no picture of him and I) Anyway, all in all it was fun even though it was in the 40s.
Since then all I've been doing is work work work. Its really not so much fun, but alas it pays the bills. I'm getting excited for my vacation in December where I'll grace my presence again in the Midwest, though this time it'll be Michigan. Its been a while since I've said "I'll be home for Christmas." I'm sure it'll be funny watching me freeze my @ss off....its been a while since I've seen snow.

Chicago in May
So the whole Chicago vacation in May is a no-go. My coworker has carpel tunnel and needs to have surgery and be out for 6 weeks...and six weeks from NOW is when I want to go to Chicago. She has a doctors apt this week. I guess if she has surgery next week, I might be able to go, but I'm not counting on it.
Aloha to Aloha Airlines
Well, it looks like tomorrow might be the last day Aloha Airlines flies a passenger to/from/within Hawaii. I'm sure many of you have already heard...if not, you know now. Aloha has been up for sale for about a year. Read about it here. There is good news though. The Governor is trying to help out. Read about her plan here. I of course blame Mesa / Go! airlines...if it weren't for them, Aloha and Hawaiian would still be fine. But after getting access to their info during bankruptcy as a "potential investor", Mesa created Go! to get rid of one of the airlines. They will soon raise the fares to more than what they were before Go! entered into the business. Its really sad that 3,500 people will soon be out of a job.

Sick
Ugh...so I'm sick. I've been sick all week. Nothing too bad. Basically just a lil congested. Today I've been coughing more though. Hopefully thats a sign that the end is near. Other than hacking up flem, my week was rather uneventful. Worked Mon-Fri. Felt like crap a few of those day. Especially Friday. One good thing about work is we got rid of our crappy temp. Her last day was Friday.
On to the "Goals and Thoughts" from the previous blog. Some of you know (I say this like I have tons of people reading this. I don't think anyone remembers that I have this blog since I don't advertise my new blog posts anymore), my roommate wants to move to the mainland. A few weeks ago his "Target Move Date" was 2-5 years. Since then he has moved up the TMD (as it will now be referred to as) to January. He's planning Chicago. He is even planning a vacation in May to check out Chicago and such. His plan is Jesi, Joey, and myself join him in May...check out the city and what it has to offer. He's a lil worried about finding a job (as he's already updated his resume and plans on applying soon). I told him that I was pretty sure I could find a place to work. There are banks everywhere. And Chicago has plenty. I just glanced through careerbuilder.com and found a few jobs that sound good. Anyway, back to the visit thing. I don't have vacation until end of Nov (When I make 1 year at ASB.). So unless my boss is nice and lets me take about a week off unpaid....I can't go in May.
Hrmph...who knows.

2nd time...
So I don't know if this one was considered a "non-date" like the last one. Friday night I went with Kai to have pupu's (appetizers for those that don't live here in Hawaii) and drinks at Brew Moon. So yeah...again...good times. He seems like a really nice sweet guy. Tomorrow (Sunday) I'm supposed to go hiking, and I was planning on going into work. Though Kai mentioned maybe doing something Sunday, so we shall see. I may just go into work for a lil bit. I've got tons of work on my desk and want to get rid of most of it. And for those that don't know, we have 2 temps at work. One needs to be babysat pretty much all day, so I don't have a chance to get too much work done when she's around. I was lucky on Thursday and Friday because she worked 1/2 day both days.

Non-Date
So on Wednesday, I went on a non-date. What is a non-date? Well I went to dinner (Kinkaids) and a movie (10,000 BC) with Kai. But we decided it was just as friends. Though the whole dinner & movie sounds like a date, so I call it a non-date. Anyway, I had a great time...we talked about all kinds of things over dinner and the movie was great.

BlogDate 3/10/08
So re-welcome to my blog. Anyway, I wanted to type/think about something. So lately (basically since shortly after moving back to Hawaii) I've not felt happy. I mean sure, there are the days that are fun...its a short lived happiness. So I've been trying to think of what makes me happy. I'm confused...I have no idea. I just know I am not very happy. I mean, I'm good at pretending. if someone were to ask me right now, "How are you doing?" I'd probably answer, "Great, how are you?" I've been thinking...Maybe Hawaii just isn't for me anymore....or maybe its because I'm single. Maybe I don't know. I've got a decent job (could use a pay raise), I have a place to live, I have friends. I'm kind of in a comfort zone. If I were to leave Hawaii, I'd leave my home for the past almost 9 years. That'd just be weird. But I think it may be a good thing. Its getting very expensive to live here. And theres no end in sight.
So now its all about options. I am seriously thinking that if I want to stay living here...I need a 2nd job. I've got debt that I'm trying to pay off but its not moving fast. Haha. I want to invest money and plan for retirement. I want to own a place. I'd like to get my degree. I know that none of these will happen overnight, but its my to do list.
So....options:
>Live here...get a 2nd job.
>Move and hopefully find a place thats cheaper and a better paying job.
>Anything else anyone can think of. Haha
